Track & Field

From sprinting and sailing over 100 meters of hurdles to hurling a shot put more than 45 feet, Sycamores Track & Field is always hot with competition. As both a team and an individual sport, the men and women on Indiana State’s track and field team put in their passion for both themselves and their school. Every meet is packed with unbelievably talented athletes when competing in the NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference.

Track & Field contains the historic Olympic trials, dating all the way back to ancient Greece. They considered these men and women to be at the pinnacle of athletic performance. All you need is to see the Sycamores perform in one meet to discover just how right the Greeks were.

Gibson Track and Field

Covering 10 acres along side the Wabash River front, a brand new $4 million dollar field serves as the new home for the Sycamores men’s and women’s track and field teams. The Gibson Track and Field was completed in April 2015, ready for the Sycamores to start gearing up for the 2015-2016 season. The facility features a poured polyurethane track surface, nine 48-inch lanes with two 110-meter straightaways, four vaulting runway locations, two high jump areas and several throwing sectors. It’s aesthetics are heightened by a brick entryway and a video scoreboard.
